Hello,
I work in a K12 school. We do not have Active Directory. WinXP Pro.

How do I lock the desktop shortcuts so the students does not delete them or
create new ones.

Thanks a lot,
GR

One way is you can change the ntfs permissions on the desktop folder in their user
profile under documents and settings/user name to read/list/execute for the user and
in advanced/ownership, make sure that administrators group is the owner of that
folder. You can do that remotely via the administrative share such as c$ as long as
you have administrator rights on those computers - put \\computername\c$ in the run
box. -- Steve
