Hello,

I'm not trying to make a normal shortcut, or maybe I am?
In the "Folders" pane of Windows Explorer(and in the drop
menus of save/open dialog boxes) you have a top level
list like:

Desktop
My Documents
My Computer
My Network Places
Recycle Bin
FolderOnDesktop1
....etc...

What I would like to do is add a shortcut to this list
that will point to a folder that is kinda burried.

i.e.: C:\Downloads\Software\Web\Graphics

I would like 1 click access to this burried folder from
the top level list mentioned above. So the list might now
look like this:

Desktop
My Documents
My Computer
My Network Places
Recycle Bin
FolderOnDesktop1
GRAPHICS
....etc...

....with the graphics shortcut now taking me to the
burried folder.

How is this done?

Thank You!

Hi Peter,

Have you thought of adding it to the left side instead? You will have to
replace one that is already there to do that. There are only five allotted
spaces.

For Pro:

Go to Start/Run and type in: gpedit.msc then navigate to:

User Configuration/Administrative Templates/Windows Components/ Windows
Explorer/Common Open File Dialog/Items Displayed in Places Bar.

Choose Enabled then paste or type the link to the folders that you want
listed.

Or...

Add Folders to the "Save As" Dialog (Places Bar) Line 118

Or use TweakUI/Common Dialogs

I'm not sure if we're talking about the same thing. I
would think this would be a simple task. Please take a
quick look at the two screen captures at the following
links. They show exactly where I'd like a shortcut to my
burried folder.

No, we aren't Peter. It was a suggestion that many users find helpful. As
for your situation add the folder to your desktop, it will then be listed.
