I want to have buttons on a webpage for people to
download the font of their choice.
How is this best accomplished in Frontpage 2002.
You can have a look at:
http://www.microsoft.com/typography/web/embedding/weft2
but downloading fonts over the Web has never proven to be
practical. Some of the issues are:
1. Large size of download files.
2. Licensing of copyrighted fonts. To download the file
for unrestricted use, the Web visitor needs to buy it.
If the Web site pays for the font, it has to be
encrypted so it only works on that site. So, if you
visit 100 sites that use Cooper Black, you have to
download the font 100 times and keep 100 copies on
your disk.
3. Not all fonts work on all operating systems.
Most designers just do the best they can with generic or
widely-installed fonts.
