I want to let a picture fill the width of screen of all sizes, but I can´t
figure out how to do it. I tried different possibilties for sizes under
properties, but it all came out wrong. Can someone help me?

rather than setting the width in pixels try setting it to 100%.

The picure will distort if increases beyond its original height and/or
width.

Literally true. Practically ugly, doncha know?

For a 'picture' it will likely be well beyond ugly, bordering on the
grotesque.... 8)

except for the dumb luck of a newbie saving the picture at like 300 dpi!

You can set the width to 100%.
However, you should be aware that it in most cases will look awful so my
advice is to forget it.

but it won't display on screen at more than 72dpi so why bother saving at
300dpi?
