How to leave messages on other email program server

If I use Yahoo email and Windows email, is there a way to check messages
using Windows Mail, but still have those messages on Yahoo email?
 
No, you can't use Windows Mail for that unless you have a POP
Yahoo account. The free US Yahoo accounts have web mail access only,
and Windows Mail doesn't do web mail, only POP/IMAP.

Thanks for the reply. That is what I thought, but then someone else said that
you can, by going to:

TOOLS menu|ACCOUNTS

Select the mail account, then click on PROPERTIES|ADVANCED tab

I'm amazed that they can get away with that.

They may as well put a Gmail link on their home page.

Surely it can't last?

It's been that way for many years.
Once competition from Gmail heats up, that may change.
Google hasn't done much to advertise the availability of Gmail.
