I think you might find more information available if we knew more. Is this a
large group of PCs, Pro? But the above will work on all varients of IE
except maybe the new beta.

You will have to create the missing keys, when there is no policy
restriction configured then *usually* there will be no keys associated to
the non-configured policy restriction.

Thanks William I will try it......

Instead of modifying the registry by hand, why not just use Group Policy
editor? The slightest mishap have you will have a corrupted registry when
doing it by hand.

1. Start>Run>MMC
2. Then File>Add/Remove Snap-in
3. Select the "Local Computer Policy" snap-in from the list.
4. Then work your way through the tree to the following folder:
Local Computer Policy>User Configuration>Administrative
Templates>Windows Components>Internet Explorer

From here you can disable changes to the each of the areas that the other
posts were saying to manual type in. I however recommend going one level
further and go to the Internet Control Panel folder under Internet Explorer
and Disable the General Page. This way they can't even access the buttons.

Thanks Jody, I will try this and let you know... I actually prefer to do it
this way, if I can

This only works on XP Pro not Home. In XP Home, you will have to edit the
registry manually. There is no Group Policy Editor on XP Home. The OP never
stated if she had XP Pro or Home.

That's good to know ..... we have over 1000 nodes and we have a combination
of Windows2000, XP home and XP Pro...... we also still have 95, 98 out
there.....(waiting to be upgraded)
But I think with help from all of you guys, I think I am good to go..

Thanks again to all of you :-) :-)
