My first time using Excel - grateful for help.

I have two files of names/addresses, mailing lists. I need to join
these two files together so I can then sort them and remove duplicate
names. How do I join/insert/merge two Excel files, please?

Thank you.

Thanks, Julie - that will be helpful!

But to begin with I need to join the two lists together and I can't
seem to do that! I have tried "insert" but it doesn't give me an
option to insert a "file" !

Hi Bright Spark

if the total combined number of records is less than 65,536 you can simply
copy & paste one list onto the bottom of the other.

open both workbooks ...
If you have version 2002 / 2003 - click in one cell in your list and do
control & A (if you have ver 2000 or 97, click on the first cell in the
range press control / shift & end) - this should just select the used range,
now click edit / copy ... switch to the other workbook (window / choose it
from the list), click in the first cell, press the end key & then the down
arrow key, this should get you to the end of the data range, click in the
first blank cell & paste ... all your records should now be combined.

Hope this helps
Cheers
