How to Isolate incompatible DRIVER causing XP crash awakening from Standbv ??????

My Toshiba XP Laptop with SP2 consistently crashes whenever XP tries to
"re-awaken" from a standby or hibernation mode.

Either the screen just goes black immediately after the "resuming windows"
progress bar flashes momentarily, or the screen just stays black until I
force a reboot weith the power on key. Windows then boots very slowly
until the system tells me windows has recovered from a serious error caused
by a device driver. I send an error report and MS servers confirm a driver
is causing the failure to re-awaken from sleep.

Is it possible to use any sort of "crash logger" which would tell me in
plain language what driver caused this recuring problem so I can then either
trash it or update it.????

Can I have my drive scanned by Microsoft servers, as MS support site seems
to suggest can be done ?

Before you installed SP2, did you go to Toshiba's tech support site and
check for updated software that needed to be installed? Most laptop
mftrs. have posted updated drivers and software (like power management
software, which could be causing your issue) for SP2. If you didn't do
this, start there. Download all available updates from Toshiba. Follow
any specific installation instructions.
