How do I determine my computer's IP Address? I have typed
in "ipconfig" in the run menu, a black screen pops up for
a second and then it's gone. Please help!

ps...I don't think I have any firewalls up...

in the run menu, type "cmd" instead of ipconfig. When the dos compatibility
box opens up, then type ipconfig.

get to a command prompt first. Go to Start->Run and type cmd and hit enter.
Now type ipconfig

Assuming you are XP....

Start -> Run CMD
Then run IPCONFIG (or IPCONFIG /A to see all adapters)

My Windows XP Professional does the same thing. The
information is there, but it doesn't remain on the screen
long enough to read it. However, if you select START
COMMAND PROMPT, then type IPCONFIG, it will remain on the
screen.

Type "cmd" in the RUN line, this will give you the black
screen that disappears on you. Now in the black screen,
type "ipconfig", now the configuration will stay on as
long as you have the black screen open. To exit out of
the black screen, type "exit".
