How to install program from floppy discs but no floppy drive?

I have an application (Amipro) on floppy disks which I want to install on my
new laptop, but the laptop doesn't have a floppy drive. Can I transfer (on
another computer) the data on the floppy disks to a CD and then put the CD
into the laptop? Will the program load into the laptop from the CD?

If not how can I do this, short of buying an external floppy drive?

Give it a try as you may be able to do as you want since we do not know how
the install files are arranged. You could even try copying from the newly
created CD to a temporary folder (on your hard drive) once you've copied
from floppy to CD.

Usually, when floppies are used to install software they include provisions
to tell the user that they must remove disk #1 and install disk #2 and hit
enter to continue. You may lose this functionality by copying the floppies
to a CD unless each floppy is copied to a separate folder on the CD then
when asked to change from #1 to #2 you could browse the CD to select the
next folder which has the data and then hit enter.

Thanks, that makes a lot of sense. I will try it.

And once installed, if you have problems printing (as many AmiPro users do
with WinXP) then do the following:

AmiPro printing problem with SP2.
--------------------------------------
In AmiPro go to Tools > User setup > Options
and then disable "print in background"

Post re another issue - AmiPro and WinXP
-------------------------------------------
I tried to access some important archived AmiPro documents after Windows XP
Service Pack 2 and I got an error message from Windows. After searching the
web, I found a fix to make the program run. The fix was to copy autoexec.nt
from the windows repair file, and put it in the Windows/system32 folder
I am still looking for a printer fix!

You could try using a USB memory stick.

Thanks for the help. It's now installed and working and printing.

Thanks again.
