how to increase maximum memory size

I have windows 2000 server and my hardware will support 8
GB of memory. How can I increase the maximum memory size
limitation on windows 2000 server. I dont want to
purchase Windows 2000 Advanced server.

You can't. Physical address extensions (which overcome the 4GB
limitation of 32-bit addressing) are available only in Win2K Adv.
Server and Datacenter (or later MS operating systems such as
Windows Server 2003 Enterprise or Datacenter).
