I recently purchased a Dell Computer with Windows XP
preinstalled, which includes Word Perfect 11. I want to
import files from Word 4.0 , each time that I attempt
this Word Perfect say it can not open the file.
How can I fix this problem?
Thanks for your help

Check the directions in Word Perfect's help file. The recommendation may be
to save the Works file as a particular file format before using them in
Word Perfect or to open the file in a particular manner. If you need
further assistance, Corel's online tech support pages may have more about
how to do this or you might find an answer in Corel's user forums that
available from their website.

What about converting Works file if you don't have Works on your
system to convert it? That sounded to easy...

It's easier if the old system with Works still installed is available. ;)

I have never used Word Perfect but imagine that it has converters similar
to the ones included with MS Word. Some installed by default. Others that
can be added by running the program's setup again. More available via
downloads from Corel.

If a converter is not available, the program may at least have settings
related to opening files created by other programs or a "recover text"
feature.
