I can't figure out how to or even if I can import music from a cd and embed
it in a pps? Can it be done and how.
Thanks

A few steps ...

1) Keep it legal. Make sure you have legal rights to copy the music
2) Rip the file to an MP3 file (you can use Windows Media Player or similar
program to rip the music)
3) In PowerPoint => Insert sound => from file (this creates a LINK to the
sound file)

alternate 3) Use something like PFCMedia to embed the sound.

Not in the same step.

You'd have to rip the track from the CD to a sound file on your harddrive.
Then Insert | Movies and Sounds | Sound from File to insert it.

If you rip it as a WAV file, that can be embedded. But see
http://www.echosvoice.com/gotchas.htm#SoundAdvice first. If you rip the
track as an MP3, it will be linked.

You can create a "fake WAV" (also known as a RIFF WAV) from an MP3 file by
using a utility like CDex. These don't always want to play on all
machines -- just something to be aware of.
