1) Keep it legal. Make sure you have legal rights to copy the music
2) Rip the file to an MP3 file (you can use Windows Media Player or similar
program to rip the music)
3) In PowerPoint => Insert sound => from file (this creates a LINK to the
sound file)
alternate 3) Use something like PFCMedia to embed the sound.

You can create a "fake WAV" (also known as a RIFF WAV) from an MP3 file by
using a utility like CDex. These don't always want to play on all
machines -- just something to be aware of.
