Hi.
I'm new with MM.
I would like to know how can I import many AVI clips (all in the same folder
on my HD) into one collection in MM.
Situation now is that when I import multiple clips I get each in it's own
collection (folder in MM).
But I need to have them all in one collection so I can see all my imported
footage and drag any clip I wish onto the time line, without the need to
brows on each and every collection.

Any help will be highly apreciated.

I don't know if there is a better way, but this way works and is easy. On
the toolbar there should be a folder icon with a red asterisk in the upper
right corner that says New Collection when you put your mouse over it. Click
that and you will see an "New collection" icon (folder with movie reel in it)
on your Collections display on the left side. Title it. Now, click on the
icon for one of your other collections and the clips should appear in the big
space just to the right. Right click your preferred file and drag it to your
new collection folder on the left. Just let go of the button, the file will
be there. Now, after you have copied all your selected clips into your new
folder, go back to the collection list on the left and select another
collection. Its contents will appear in the space on the right. Repeat
until you have copied all your clips into the new collection. Now, click on
that one and you will find that you have all your selected clips, pictures,
audio, etc, in that one new collection. Enjoy.

Rick,

I am having pretty much the same problem as "dan". I used DVD Decrypter on
a dvd with "vob" files. I can now import video and I can import audio into
Movie Maker, but not both at the same time and I would certainly would like
audio with my video and vice versa. Do you think your solution below would
work?

Much appreciated,
Adam

Adam,

Hopefully someone who knows will reply, but I am not familiar with DVD
Decrypter. Nevertheless, if you can import audio and video into your
collections you should be able to add the audio to the video. I replaced the
poor audio on a video of a cantata with a better audio recording of the same
performance that way, though syncronizing the two was a challenge. Just
muted the poor audio and added the good to the Audio/Music line. I wish you
success.

Rick
