Is there a way to identify what the SP level is by checking the files in the
i386 directory ?
thanks

Look for a CAB file identified as SPx.CAB (x=SP level).

Also look in the root directory of the CD for an empty file called CDROMSPx.TST
(x=SP level) and a file called SPNOTES.HTM, which must be opened to identify the
SP level.

am looking at a server with a shared drive, has multiple i386 directories on
it..
OS\w2k_pro\i386
OS\w2k_srv\i386
OS\w2k_advsrv\i386
OS\wxp\i386
it appears that the previous admin would use that for updating when the CD
was required.
I am trying to identify what the SP levels are?

anyway identify SP levels by looking at files in the i386 directory ?

Why not use the winver command to obtain the information?
