Looking at some older posts, I really liked the hardware profile options (
which i never saw a need for) that was suggested by Jimmy S. When I plan on
just gaming online, I open task manager and stop the various processes that
as ignorant as I am of thier functions ( trial & error gave me a bit of a
list to work with) I have deemed not needed for my purposes. That has dropped
the running processes from about 17 to 12, if I dont interrupt the RPC.
So I guess I am asking what processes would yall consider the 'bare-bones'
needed for online gaming? and how to identify & differentiate the many
'svchost.exe' that all have different PIDs. Is csrss, smss, lsass, really
needed?
or am i asking for a link that kinda acts as a glossary/dictionary of these
processes, so i can make a 'bare-bones' online gamer profile.
if this gets relocated for bordering on off-topic, plz let me know where to
look
