Probably a stupid question but I recently got a 9600pro card. In dispaly
properties however, it is identified as "Radeon 9600 Series" Clock rates
show core @400 and memory @200. My understanding is the card is supposed to
be 400/400. Is the memory showing 200 because it is DDR (200 x 2 = 400) or
is my card underclocked?

Pro should be 400 core, 300 memory. Display should say "RADEON 9600 PRO".
Built by ATI or otherwise?

Where do you get this info on clock rates from? Is there some software I
can d-load to get the information for mine? BTW - my Sapphire 9600 Pro also
says 9600 series in display props.

Cheers, Shawk.

if you use the omega drivers, and install the overclocking tab, then you'll
see the clock rates.

or use proggies like Sandra or aida32 to read the card info

My ATI 9600Pro displays "Radeon 9600 Series" in Display Properties
also. Running Cat 3.7s.

I used the Omega drivers. Due to some other issues with a game I like, I
have reinstalled the Ati drivers. I removed the Omega's via the add/remove
programs. Once I reinstalled the catalyst drivers, I still have the
overclocking tab. This will come in handy as I will probably try and
overclock this card. Seems the Powercolor EZ (the one I have) is supposed
to be a 400mhz core with 200mhz DDR memory, that's where they get the
400/400 (they're counting the DDR as 200x2). Looks like I have a 9600pro
GPU with some cheaper memory. My system is pretty cool so maybe I will be
able to get some more speed out of it.

That doesn't seem right. My Powercolor 9700 non pro shows at 275/270,
default clock settings. That's 275 core. 540 memory. Also, it's strange
that the core would be higher than the memory (after appying the 2x rule).
Any video card I've ever seen is opposite.

Using the 2x calculation, Mine has the core default 400 OC'd to 450 and the
memory default at 300 (2x 600) OC'd to 350 (2x 700). Mine is built by ATI,
not a 2nd party manufacturer.
