how to I set up outlook...exchange issue

When I start Outlook 2007it asks me to enter my address and name but I have
no idea what that even is. Anything I have tried it always ends up with not
being connected to the exchange server. I need to set up outlook to my gmail
account in order to connect it with my 6700 pda device. Any help I wold
appreciate it!
 
Are you using an Exchange server? If not, then don't set one up!!

Use your POP3 account settings from your ISP and configure it to work with GMail. Instructions are on the gmail site.

But you didn't answer Milly's question...are you using an Exchange server?
Is this in a work environment or at your home? That's a pretty important
piece of information to know before helping you with an answer.

Also, have you just now installed Outlook 2007? If so, did you go through
the account setup routine/wizard yet? If you did't do that then you must
complete it before Outlook will work properly.
