Hi,

If you right click on a tab you have the option to either hide or unhide.

Selecting HIDE will hide that sheet or selecting UNHIDE will show all the
hidden sheets

HTH

Thanks,

SImon

Thanks simon however it did not answer the question. I want to hide or unhide
all sheet tabs (not the individual sheets). In 2003 this was a Sheet Tabs
checkbox in "Tools/options/view/window options". This would hide/unhide
sheet tabs. I cannot find the equivalent in 2007.

Thanks, John

Hi John,

From what I can see there is no option to hide the sheet tabs and there is
also no reference to them in the help...which doesn't look promicing.

However, it is possible to resize the horizontal slider to cover them. I
know this is not the ideal solution but at least it hides them

Thanks,

Simon

Thanks Simon, Unfortunately it doesn't help. We provide a number of
products (Methodologies) to our clients on Excel and we always ship them with
Sheet Tabs hidden because we provide our own menu system. None of these
workbooks will migrate to Excel 2007 because of the lack of this feature.
This seems like a significant oversite by the 2007 developers.

Cheers, John

Dear Smibes,

Not sure if my replies hurt your feeling about the hide/unhide comments.
I used to make a copy of the excel file and paste it to another file/work
sheet.
Then, every column/row hiden will be appeared on the new work sheet.
Not sure if this could be the same for the hide/unhide work sheets.
^_^.....

It's surely sort of bugs in Excel and everybody believes to hide column/rows
and put an code will protect the unseen information.

Check it yourself might be better.
I never try to hide work sheet!!

** USED TO BE TOP SCRECT IN MY MIND.**

So, I, myself, when I send some xls file to customers, it was strickly
re-edit by

copy
1st paste special with "value"
2nd past special with "format"
delete all the unecessary information to customers.

By this way, I can hide all the connection or formula in front of my
customers.
And, making sure there's no unecessary informaiton exposed to customers.

Thanks skywonder97,

I don't think what you suggested will help. We need our users to move from
sheet to sheet in a sequence that we will determine based on their data
input. We don't want them going to any sheet in any sequence by clicking on
the sheet tabs. That is why we need to hide the sheet tabs

Cheers, Smibes

I also cannot find out within the user interface how to do this, but have got
around the problem by using the statement:

ActiveWindow.DisplayWorkbookTabs = False

within VBA. This will then hide the sheet tabs, setting to True will
display them.

Hope this helps.

Click on the Office Button (top Left)
Select Excel Options at the bottom of the window
Click Advanced
Scroll down to "Display options for this workbook"
Check or uncheck "Show sheet tabs" box.

Enjoy
