...except hiding Hidden+System files, of course.

Umm... if you have your system set to show hidden and system files,
then you're kinda sorta like, ...stuck, know what I mean?

I find this strange. When I had WIndows XP, I had it set to show all
hidden files/folders and system files, yet there were no "hidden"
files displayed on my desktop. Now that I have Vista, I either have to
not display the hidden files/folders or put up with the annoying non-
files like the .ini files on my desktop.

Another Vista annoyance brought to me courtesy of MS.

Trust me I'm counting down the days to Win 7. I can't get rid of Vista
soon enough. There are just so many weird stuff going on that
collectively drives me nuts.

Maybe it's you more than it's Vista: perhaps you started out at 90%
nuts when you started using Vista.

I'm just sayin'...

Delete them. They aren't important.
I tried deleting my desktop.ini file. Vista didn't like that and
recreated the file.

As mentioned previously, this minor problem didn't occur in XP at all.

Go back to XP and move on. Or find a good psychologist to help you
with our OCD ;->
