MikeB said:I find this strange. When I had WIndows XP, I had it set to show all
hidden files/folders and system files, yet there were no "hidden"
files displayed on my desktop. Now that I have Vista, I either have to
not display the hidden files/folders or put up with the annoying non-
files like the .ini files on my desktop.
Another Vista annoyance brought to me courtesy of MS.
Trust me I'm counting down the days to Win 7. I can't get rid of Vista
soon enough. There are just so many weird stuff going on that
collectively drives me nuts.
IIRC, isn't desktop.ini created when you have 'Cache Thumbnails' enabled ?
I tried deleting my desktop.ini file. Vista didn't like that and.. said:Delete them. They aren't important.

As mentioned previously, this minor problem didn't occur in XP at all.

Go back to XP and move on. Or find a good psychologist to help you
with our OCD ;->
