Hello Everyone,
I have some text in a video that is present throughout the video. I would
like to know how to hide or cover the text throughout the entire video. I
just need to hide the text so it does not reveal what is underneath. Thanks!

You could use one of Papajohn's custom overlay's and overlay a black image
or a picture over the text.
Papajohn you could probably add more to that one, I haven't tried working
with them yet.

The Starter Kit on the Editing > Text > Custom Overlays page of my website
is more than enough to do it... I'd suggest taking a snapshot in MM2 of a
typical frame, and using that to size and shape the overall image you want
to use as the overlay, and the transparent part of it.

Thanks for the help. All I am thinking about doing is placing a dark box
over the text throughout the video so it should be simple enough, correct?
Would the custom overlays be able to do that? :-D

And there lies the trick.
What your trying to do will work easily with the custom overlay package but
you need an image editor, such as Photoshop, that can create an image with a
transparent background and save it as a PNG file.

That was the next thing for my website. I wanted to see what other programs
will allow you to create transparent backgrounds.
