Hi Folks,

I have been mucking about moving macros around and now when I open Excel the
workbook PERSONAL.XLS automatically opens. I think this is as it should be
but the workbook should be hidden. Am I right and if so how do I hide it?

Thanks and Regards,

Andrew

Hi Andrew

What to do if your PERSONAL.XLS(B) is visible

When you open Excel and you see PERSONAL.XLS(B) in the title bar you can use this to hide it.

Excel 97-2003: Window>Hide
Excel 2007 : On the View tab in the window group choose Hide

Then close Excel and say Yes to save the changes to your PERSONAL file.

I tried the hide, but as soon as I tried to save it popped back up. When I open Excel it opens the Personal.xls. If I open another file first, it opens that file with Personal hidden, but when I close the first file, Personal pops up, without the menu and headers. I have to close using Alt-F4.

Confused and frustrated.

By-the-way, the file is Personal.XLSB, and hers is the file path:

C:\Users\my.name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\PERSONAL.XLSB.lnk
