as you know when a win2k pro became a domain member, users have to choice at
Log on to option.
I want to hide or disable it, or remove "Local(this computer)" choice when
users want to be log in.

It would likely be foolish to do that since it would make
it difficult or perhaps impossible for a local admin to logon
to the box if maintenance is required.

There is an option I believe to not display it but I though that
was the default....

Look in WinLogon (registry) option as that is likely controlling such
things. (or through a GPO.)

I explain my pervious question more:

I am a network Admin and I want to hide or disable "Log on to" option for my
users. I want to my users only log on to domain.
Is there any policy or Registry change for that ?

The question still remains..... If you accomplish this, what will you do
when you need to log on locally to do an admin task??

You can't, and even if you could, you shouldn't. Just make sure no users
have any local accounts, and that only you know the local admin credentials.
That way, there's nothing for them to log into locally.

Try encouraging users to logon using their UPN.

And enable DisplayLastLogonName (or whatever it's called).

Surely if the users don't have local accounts they won't be able to log
on locally?? There is no way (that I know of) to hide the "Log on to"
drop-down list.

I still think you can HIDE it (by default even) but that it
is still available as a drop-down (which is what you
want anyway so that admins can logon.)

I certainly have machines where it the dialog is not displayed
fully, but I am not sure about the rules.

You're right it is 'hidden' by default, but you can just click on the
"More Options" button to show the drop-down list. And it then retains
it's hidden/unhidden state for your next logon.
Maybe there's a hack available in the registry to make this more
permanent..?

Maybe, but why? If users don't have local logins or know the credentials for
any, this does not matter.
