How to hide comments when sending document to other users?

When putting comments in a document (they use the balloon feature) to the assistant they then need to send the document out of office to another user for them to make changes, etc., without turning off the balloons or losing the balloon comments, is there a way to "hide" the interoffice comments so that outside users can not read them especially if they have the track change feature which enables them to see all revisions?? Basically, it is attorney/client privilege and the comments are not to be viewed by outside users? Does this make sense and can you help?

Save a copy of the document with the comments deleted.
