i would like to hide the first 8 rows from the users view, but still have
them visable when the sheets is printed, is this done using split & freeze
panes some how?

Many thanks,
Steve

I would record a macro to unhide the rows, print the sheet, and then re-hide
the rows.........

i would prefer not to use a macro, because in some cases a print preview is
all that will be needed.

nm iv sorted it by moving the area I want hidden out of view then using
freeze panes on multiple rows.

Most of the times when I want to hide/unhide columns (or rows) and want to
be able to switch between visible/unvisible in an easy way, I rather use
Group / Ungroup.
You find this setting in DATA / Group and Outline ... / Group & Ungroup.
Grouping gives you an outline with a + sign above of aside from your
spreadsheet which works more or less te same as the + in the explorertree.
(They do not appear on a (preview of) a print.
