how to have secure remote desktop a connection

I wanted to know if there is any way to have secure way to connect to a
remote pc using remote desktop. I want a 128 bit encryption. Is there any
free encryption software so remote desktop can log onto.

Yes, if you are remoting into windows xp pro use rdc. If you are remoting
into xp home use vnc with the security plug-in.

With that said, some folks, including myself run RDP through a VPN or SSH
tunnel for added security.
