You can create and 'action setting' by right clicking any object in
powerpoint and choosing "action settings". Then choose the relevant action
(e.g. jump to a slide, quit, etc)
If you want an individual word (as part of a paragraph) you could place a
object with no fill or outline color and 'assing an action to that'
Or you could create your text as individual text boxes to isolate your your
'word'
Action settings will not underline your text like hyperlinks - me thinks!?!?
