I have one computer (of 3 on our home network) that can't be accessed by the
other 2 computers. When I try to do an explore, it shows the computer in
the list, but says '<computername> is not accessible - you may not have
permission to use this network resource contact the admin of this server to
find out if you have access permissions'. I have shared everything from the
C drive down to a number of the directories and subdirectories. What more
do I have to to do grant access? All 3 computers have XP. I did not have to
do anything special on the other ones to make this work. One thing - a
backup program that is running on another computer is actually backing up
files from the computer that can't be accessed, but I can't get to it in
'Explore'. Thanks!!!

Hi

Possibly a ForceGuest issue...

WinXP in a workgroup setting defaults to authenticate all connections coming
from "the network" as the Guest User (only possible to change on WinXP Pro).

Hi Robin

Did you ever get this problem sorted as I have exactly the same issue. The
response from Torgier only seemed to be for Win XP Pro PCs.

Regards

Dave
