Hey Greg, simple fix for most network friendly system IE
XP, NT. Go to the Control Panel and if its NT you need to
go into the "Administrative Tools" "Computer
Management" "local users and groups" section and go find
your login and click "change password".
If its XP even easier, go to the Control Panel,
click "user accounts" and pick the icon for your login,
the just "put a password on this account" very simple.
Hope this helps. Ohh if you decide to "encrypt" your
files, if you ever have to re-install the system from a
crash you wont be able to get into your old files unless
you "take control" of the folder in the "networking"
options.

If you just want to transfer some files between two computers, there
should be no reason to use a password.

Just run XP's Network Setup Wizard on both computers to fully enable
file sharing.
