A friends laptop was infected with Spyware /Ad-Ware. As a favour I am
doing a re-installation of the laptop.
Only problem is that I cannot seem to find a "Network Install" of
Windows SP4 Rollup 1 on the Microsoft web site. Apparently I have to
put the actual laptop on the Internet and risk it getting infected
again just so that the Microsoft website can do a Windows Genuine check
before downloading. Is this right?
I can understand Microsoft's position by wanting to release updates
only to Windows installations that are genuine, but it is of no comfort
that people who have been victims of Spyware/Ad-Ware to risk putting
their machines on the Internet!
Any advice/remedy would be appreciated!?
