On WestLaw, a research web site that I use, I'm required to
fill in a password and a client id. See
<https://web2.westlaw.com/signon/default.wl?newdoor=true&bhcp=1>
For security reasons, I don't use the "save the password"
function, and there's no problem with that -- whenever I go
to the site the password box remains blank until I
intentionally type something in there. The "client id" box
is another matter, though. It always generates a sort of a
drop down list, such that it I were to hit tab, the words in
the drop down list will be used in the box. The thing is,
the drop down list always has the same single selection -- a
user id that I used many *months* ago and haven't used
since. None of the other client id's that I've used have
ever ended up there.
This is not a big issue, but it's annoying to see the same
id there every time. If nothing else, on general principle I
don't want the computer keeping track of information like
this unless I specifically tell it to.
Is there a way to get rid of the id?
I have IE6 sp1 running on Win2k.
Thanks.
