how to get key code

I want to install my microsoft word 2000 on a lap top and
the book that had my key code to install the program got
thrown away. Is there any way for me to find out or
retrieve what that code is? Please I need help. I use
this program for work to be able to work at home. Thanks!

The number is not stored in a file (or the registry) from
what I know. If you do not have the serial#, you may be
out of luck - as far as using your orginial number.
