How to get IP address for a remote XP professional PC with ADSL connection?

My friend has a remote XP professional PC with ADSL connection
I let him to try http://www.checkmyip.com, http://www.myipaddress.com and http://www.whatismyip.com to get IP address. But none of them works. I went to his site and was using 'ipconfig' to get its local IP address and then in another PC linked to this XP in LAN, I can use remote desktop to login via the IP address from 'ipconfig' but I can't login via the IP address from http://www.checkmyip.com, http://www.myipaddress.com and http://www.whatismyip.com. I believe there are somthing wrong in route setting. Do you have any ideas? TIA
 
Is your friend behind a firewall/NAT/router? If so he needs to forward/open TCP Port 3389 to the
private LAN IP of the PC your trying to connect to. You call using the public IP, ie. the IP
assigned by his ISP (the IP reported by your list of IP finders)...
