Hi.
I have a HP2600n laser printer, which I use to write my letters and
other documents.
In spite of all my efforts, some of the really basic colors (the most
standard <red> for example) look "diluted" after printing, although
they appeared absolutely correct on screen through Word.
I also ordered visit cards from a vendor, and the same colors were
perfekt.
What's wrong, doctor?
Many thanks for any help.
Alain

All colors are faint, but red is completely missing.
If so it is probably a buildup of toner on the Magenta laser mirror (Magenta is the lowest cartridge in the printer). This can be cleaned but needs someone who is comfortable with dissasembly. >

Looks probable: I'll have to call a vendor I guess.
I updated the machine's firmware, its driver, I changed all cartriges
(some were almost empty), but nothing changed.

<try the Screen Match feature in the Color tab of the printer driver.>

I must confess I didn't find this option on my machine's driver :-(
Last question, how many pages has the printer printed.

15056 including 11220 color pages.

Many thanks for your help.

Alain
