Every incoming email I receive in Microsoft outlook 2002 has a gray
background that is using lots of unneccesary toner... How do I get the
background color out of the incoming emails?
Thanks,

All messages, only HTML, or only those from certain users? Do you use a
windows theme with a gray background?

I don't know anything about themes-sorry!
And, it is not in everyone's emails but in most & I get so many emails that
it is hard to figure out whose does contain the background & whose doesn't.
Also, when I send emails using notebook stationary & others reply to me it
comes back with a gray background & it doesn't go to them with a gray
background..

Also, this hasn't always been happening. It just started happening about
two months ago & I don't remember doing anything different to make it happen.

Another thing-I don't know much about HTML-plain text-rich text???

This is a setting on your Internet Explorer that's linked to the HTML emails.
Go to Tools, Internet Options, General Menu -- Colors, check the windows
color box, and hit OK. Your emails should not show the gray background
anymore!

Jenny,
Oh my gosh!!! You are the only one who answered me that I was able to
understand what you were instructing me to do & on top of this-you fixed my
problem. You are wonderful!!!
Thanks so much,
Jackie

You're very welcome. I had to research this for my boss and it took me a
week to figure it out by looking it up on Google and troubleshooting, etc. I
was so happy to finally fix his Outlook. I thought you'd appreciate me
sharing. :D Take care.

Thank you Jenny for posting your anser to Jackie's question. It helped me as
well. I do remember changing the color scheme in IE. I wouldn't have thought
that it would affect my Outlook though. Strange. Anyway, thanks again. But I
just want to add that you do not have to click the "Use Windows Colors" box.
You can still have custom colors, but you would want to change the
"background" color to white. That is what I did so that I could alleviate the
Outlook background color issue and keep my other custom Explorer colors.

Eric
