how to get back SHOW DESKTOP button

Hi,

someone has deleted the SHOW DESKTOP button from the quick launch bar (the
toolbar at bottom of screen) on my computer. how do i get it back?

Create a file named "Show Desktop.scf" paste this text in the file save it,
then drag it to the Quick Launch bar.

Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop

Create an icon on your quick launch bar.

sorry, but which program do I use when creating this file? i don't know what
program a ".scf" file can be made in.

It's just a text file, use NotePad and save it with the .scf extension instead of .txt, or rename the file after you save it.
