This is probably more computer- than Microsoft-related,
but before I erased Windows 98 and installed Windows XP,
my computer used to shut down by simply clicking on
Shutdown. Since installing XP (or since erasing my hard
drive), I now click Shutdown and have to hang around until
Windows announces it's safe to turn off my computer,
meaning I have to hang around to do this manually.
Apparently to get back the previous capacity, I have only
to make some simple adjustment in the BIOS, but where I
found where to make that adjustment on my computer at work
(Windows 98), I can't seem to pull up the same BIOS option
in XP. Is there something in XP that prohibits automatic
shutdown (I don't know what else to call it), or could
someone tell me the XP path to do this.
Thanks very much,
