How to get alerts on second email like first?

Why do the first email display notifications in the tray and pops up an alert
preview but the second one doesnt? I use Microsoft Office 2010 Beta now but
if you can explain how to do this in Microsoft Office 2007, I'll try to
relate the options and get it.

They should all rotate through the blue desktop alert, unless you get too
many at once, then it'll just say new messages.
