I've created a rule to forward all my mails in company's mail a/c to my
gmail id, setting the rule. Now the problem is the rule is not working.
if i set any other office id in the rule, it works fine. but not to
gmail or yahoo.
Can you find out the solution for it?
Is it due to security policy by company's mail server?

Quite possibly. Do you have permission to forward these emails?

No Idea about that. So, does it happen on server only?
and is it possible to have it permitted on individual account basis?
Kindly advice the way so that I can ask my mail admin team
accordingly.

What I am saying is that your company IT policy may be to block access to
web-based mail such as GMail, Hotmail etc etc, lots do.
What I am also saying, is that you need to check with your company legal
dept that they are happy with you forwarding mail to an address outside
their domain....that is what I meant by whether you have permission to do
this. Not computing permissions, but actual permission from your company.

Gordon is quite correct in informing you that there is a liability issue here
with email that is given to you by your company to perform business on their
behalf. Forwarding work email to an external account may not be allowed since
technically you don't own that email, the company does.

You should check your company's Acceptable Use Policy and talk to your
Exchange Admin. Forwarding work email to an external account can and often is
considered a security breach and depending upon the contents, could open you
up to legal action.

If you need to access work email from home, have your boss make a business
case to request remote access for you. You need to make sure you keep
everything above board and legal.

Hi Gordon,

I understood you correct actually. My concern was also the same bu
just before discussing policy with them I wanted to verify If there i
any solution technically in case they allow.
Now I feel, I should let it off because in case some bad thing happens
I can be misinterpreted.
Thanks for help :)

it is possible to disable forwarding to outside addresses when you use
Exchange server. The admin disables it. It is possible to forward outside
the server but the admin needs to set it up for you.
