I had this problem this morning, never heard of before. My laptop
wont
allow me to log-in. In safe mode, I can log-in but Bill Gates IE wont
run and things look ugly on the screen.

I tried System Recovery, the machine kept running for an hour till I
gave-up. I called MS customer support, but they want me to PAY them! I
refused to pay for a defected OS!

Any expert with this provide some directions on how to fix?

Thanks,
Mike

What about Re-Formatting the machine if that would eliminate the
problem? I know it is like a heart surgery...

sometimes vista won't start
due to some kind of hardware
change.

mine wouldn't start this
morning until I performed
the below:

what I would try is to boot
into the bios and set the
settings to the default state.

then as it reboots get into
the diagnostic boot menu
and try "last good configuration"

you may have to hold down the
f5 key or the f8 or both
immediately after to bios
testing at startup to pull
up the special boot menu.
