A. Uninstall Vista, reinstall XP.
Vista just ain't ready for the big time. Wait about six months.

B. If you're really desperate and need Flash Player to work, Java Scripts to
work, PNG files to display...
You know, if your business really depends on the web...

Install all the add-ins you need (they won't work, but they will
install), then perform and upgrade installation of Vista. This will "adopt"
any files in the System32 folder as "acceptable for use." Then, everything
works. Of course, you will have installed Vista at least three times to get
to this point.

No, this isn't trolling... it's just a full week of frustration with this
piece of junk. The eye candy is nice, but if it can't perform basic
functions without constantly seeking help, it's worthless.

Yep, that'll do it.

You could also stick Vista on a second partition, boot to it when time
permits, use it to learn Vista, and to see how things go with updates. But
do your real work in XP.

That would imply the average person who owns Windows XP should skip the
upgrade license and buy the full version regardless of any cost savings
they've earned.

I asked about that earlier and was told that you could install the upgrade
edition on a separate partition. Kind of like when you upgrade a product
you've uninstalled and just have to prove you own the prior version from a
CD or whatnot. So it's not true? You can't install an upgrade edition in a
way that allows you to keep XP?

What about Virtual PC or VMware? I haven't messed with either of those yet.
Any way to keep XP with an upgrade version of Vista? (I've been doing clean
installs of every beta release since day 1, so I haven't even thought about
other scenarios until recently).

Odd all of those items work here perfectly without any reinstall.

I just installed them as webpages requested and poof.

Also there's no "add-in" for java script, I think you're confusing Java and
JS which are 2 completely separate things.

Also why would PNG files fail to display since Vista has native PNG support

*confused*

Typical Narcissist: Mine works... what's the problem?

I also installed them as webpages requested and *poof*, nothing worked.
Including suggestions from Adobe Forums and Microsoft where a multitude of
others are having the same problem.

I never said Java Script was an Add-in... I said install all the add-ins you
want. Based upon your interpretation, .PNG would also be an add-in.
Also why would PNG files fail to display since Vista has native PNG support

Typical Troll or just a plain Idiot

And it's the same crap we see 2-3 X a day.

A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.
Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing?

ok so I merely mention that those items are working for me and I'm a troll.

I then suggest that maybe you are confused on some items and that makes me
an idiot?

I guess these days idiot must be the word for people that had college level
reading comprehension in the 3rd grade, and who also scored a perfect SAT
verbal score.

Yeah I'm a real idiot *rolls eyes*

You know what, if you don't want a discussion on what you post maybe you
shouldn't be posting it in "discussion groups" f**king retard.

Let me guess, now you want us to accept your legal opinion. Got a
license to practice law?

You're just a troll looking for attention.

Wow, it never fails.
