I just re-formatted my drive and re-installed XP. When I
switch to my usual 1024x768 the screen looks really
pixely. In addition to that the windows flicker. I tried
running the Display Troubleshooter and clicking the
flickering problem radio button, but for some reason it
doesn't work. I fixed this problem before, but I don't
remember how I did it. Somebody please help?

I tried, but there is only one refresh rate, and that is
default. When I fixed it before I didn't have to fix the
refresh rate :\

Perhaps I should restate my problem. When I switch to
1024x768 you can actually see the rows of pixels. It's
like this: the rows alternate brightness - the first is
light the next is darker the next is light, etc. And due
to that it makes the window edges sort of flicker.

Have you downloaded the latest drivers for your monitor from the
manufacturers website, as well as the latest drivers for your video card?

While looking in my top dresser drawer I spotted the disk
that had the drivers for my motherboard. I installed them
and now my monitor works fine.
