how to fit text into non-rectangle shape?

I have created a shape using the autoshapes function, and I want to add text
to it that conforms to the same shape of the autoshape, but when I type in
text, it always appears as if in rectangular shape. I have tried the wrap
text to fit autoshape function, but that does not make the text box shape
non-retangular. Is it even possible to type text into a non-retangular 'box'?
and if so, how?

PPT doesn't wrap text to shapes the way, say, Illustrator can. You have do
it manually by using Shift+Enter to add soft returns when you need a line to
break.

Text boxes in PPT are always rectangular. No way to change that, I'm afraid.

The best you can do is manually force linebreaks where you want them.

Shift+Enter forces a line to break w/o starting a new paragraph
