How to find a software title from a License key or product code number.

I work in an office that gets all the incoming shipments
for the Air Force unit here. Someone found a jewel case
with no disc in it. On the back of the case is a Key code
and product number. The front product sheet is gone, so I
don't know what software title this License goes with.
Anybody got an idea??
 
Best bets may be Google for the product # or if possible hunt through
recently arrived CDs for similar #s, then call the manufacturer to
confirm. Googling for the key code might work but it's iffy; should
you get a hit though you might recognize the product as one that was
delivered.
