I have an old PPT file. There are some sound demo in it. These sound
files are inserted into the PPT, each of which is assocaited with a
button. When I click the button during slide show, it will play the
sound. And I can see the name of that sound xxx.wav if I edit the
"Action Settings..." of that button. Now I want to extract that sound
file and save it in my computer. How can I do it?

Save the presentation to HTML (File > Save as Web Page). PowerPoint will
create a file plus a folder of files. Look in the folder and you will find
the extracted WAV files.

[CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the critical
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]

Hello,

PowerPoint does not have the specific capability that you are looking,
although you can use it's save as HTML feature to work around this
limitation..

If you (or anyone else reading this message) think that PowerPoint should
provide better content management tools for finding, exporting, changing,
replacing, optimizing, deleting, etc. linked, embedded and native content
(without havuing to resort to workarounds VBA or 3rd party add-ins), don't
forget to send your feedback (in YOUR OWN WORDS, please)to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also WHY it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions)
