Hi,
On booting, the system boots from hdd: then cd: then a:
I don't see an option to enter the bios on bootup, ie:
Press F1 now

I was wondering if there was a way to enter into the bios
from within windows 2000 server to change the boot order
to A: CD: HDD:

or are there any external programs i could use

thanks in advance,
Darrin.

you can't get into the bios from windows, the bios screen when your
computer boots is probably being hidden by a logo screen. Try hitting
the "delete" key when you see the logo. If that doesn't work post the
make of the computer you have and someone will be able to help.

You can't access bios from within any OS. If POST flys by too fast, use the
pause key on keyboard to freeze it, ESC to resume. It should let you read
the key required for BIOS if used at the right moment. Better yet, download
your motherboard manual. That sounds like a waiste of time, but i refuse to
work on a system when i haven't got a manual for specs.

To explain the bios thing a little, its firmware that provides a POST
sequence and interfaces the hardware on your system to the operating system
running on top. If you could enter or attempt to modify bios while a system
was running, it would crash on the spot.
