How to enable NetBT for modem connection ?

My question is simple: How to enable NetBT (NetBIOS over
TCP/IP) on a modem or VPN connection ?

I'm aware that this is usually found on the WINS tab in
the TCP/IP setup. However if the connection is of type
modem or VPN (as opposed to LAN) these checkboxes simply
do not appear on the WINS tab. So what to do in this case ?

I really hope somebody knows this as I've looked
everywhere on the Internet for the answer.

Thanks.

It should already be enabled. Are you having any difficulty with browsing or
anything else related to this error?

W2k doesn't have these radio buttons on a dial-up and VPN connections. If
you want to enable NetBIOS, you should bind either Client for Microsoft
Network or File and Printer Sharing to these connections.
