I am using PP 2003 on a Windows XP machine.

I understand the difference between inserting a sound file so it is embedded
or so it is linked. My question is, How do I do this? I see no options
that allow me to control this other than setting the maximum size of the
file.

I am trying to insert a WAV file.

Thanks

You don't have to do anything special, really, other than change the setting
in Tools/Options for "link sound files greater than XXX kb."

Any WAV that you insert that falls under that limit in Tools/Options will be
automatically embedded. If it's larger than that setting, it will be linked.

WAV files will be embedded automatically if their size doesn't exceed the limit
you have set. There is nothing else you need to do. You can test this by
temporarily renaming the WAV file on your hard drive (the one you inserted) and
then playing the presentation. If the sound works you'll know that it is
embedded and not linked because the file you inserted no longer exists on your
hard drive. Make sense?
