How to embed a sound file (WAV)?

As long as I have been reading these boards, I should
know the answer to this question, but alas, I don't. (Or
I'm just brain dead.)

I have a presentation with various WAV files. Most of
them say [Contained in file] when I select Edit Sound
Object. One of them, however, gives a file path. How do
I embed this sound as well?

Once all sounds are embedded, I can burn it to a CD
without having to burn any additional sound files,
correct?

Thanks for your help!

Is the file size greater than 50MB? If not, go to Tools > Options > General
and set the size limit to 50000. Then delete the sound file in question and
reinsert it. It will be embedded as long as it is a WAV.

Embedded files are embedded in the presentation file.

Go to the Tools menu and choose Options. Click the General tab. Look
for "Link sounds with file size greater than..." Change the number in
the box to a number larger than the size of your sound file. Then delete
your sound and reinsert it (you can't change a sound that is already
inserted). This will only work if the sound file really is a WAV file.

Go to Tools/Options and put 50000 in the box for "link sounds greater than XXX kb." Then delete and reinsert the problem WAV.

And yes, once the WAVs are all embedded, you can put just the PPT file on the CD without having to include separate WAV files, too.

[TOP ISSUE - Are you having difficulty opening presentations in PowerPoint
that you just created (you can save, but not open)? -

Hello,

If you (or anyone else reading this message) have suggestions for how to
make this easier to do in PowerPoint, don't forget to send your feedback
(in YOUR OWN WORDS, please) to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

It's VERY important that, for EACH wish, you describe in detail, WHY it is
important TO YOU that your product suggestion be implemented. A good wish
submssion includes WHAT scenario, work-flow, or end-result is blocked by
not having a specific feature, HOW MUCH time and effort ($$$) is spent
working around a specific limitation of the current product, etc. Remember
that Microsoft receives THOUSANDS of product suggestions every day and we
read each one but, in any given product development cycle, there are ONLY
sufficient resources to address the ones that are MOST IMPORTANT to our
customers so take the extra time to state your case as CLEARLY and
COMPLETELY as possible so that we can FEEL YOUR PAIN.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions).
