Hi all--
I'm not sure if this is even possible, but I need to take
a report that has data grouped by departments of an
office, and I need to electronically send each department
their respective section of the report. Is this
possible? If so, HOW?? I've searched the newsgroups and
found nothing on this particular topic. Any help or
suggestions for alternatives to this problem are
appreciated.

thanks

One easy solution would be to break off the pieces for each department as
individual reports, then run each report individually. When you view the
report, right-click on the report and select "send to->mail recipient as
attachment".

You then are prompted to choose a format for the report. The most probable
formats are MS Word or MS Access Snapshot. Word format is effective unless
the report has complex formatting or graphs. Snapshot format is basically a
PDF-style doc where all the formatting and fonts are retained regardless of
which PC it is opened on. The downside of Snapshot is that viewers of the
report have to have the Snapshot Viewer installed. You could just refer
recipients of the report to the free MS download of snapshot viewer at:

Hope this helps

Assuming you have the email address and department in a
table you could display the department and email address
in a form. Select the department and design a command
button which takes the information from the form to create
and email the report.
